Ideas for creating the ultimate birthday celebration!

Keys to the perfect romantic birthday celebration:
Start the day off right. Either wake them up at 12:01 and wish a happy birthday, or do something a little extra special in the morning. A wake up call, morning rose, or breakfast in bed.
Use the element of surprise. Take charge of the special day, and plan the entire thing without their prior knowledge. You can always hint that you are doing something special to build up the anticipation, but do not give any clues as to what it is you are doing!
Be prepared for anything to happen. Sometimes, when we plan out surprises life throws in a few surprises itself. Turn anything unexpected into something special by relaxing and just enjoying your time together.
At some point in the day, remind your partner why you love them, and that you want to make this day special because you are so glad they are alive and part of your life.
For Your Wife or Girlfriend:
From the responses we received, a woman considers her birthday the perfect opportunity for you to lavish her romantically! The key concept our respondents said was that lavish doesn't necessarily mean expensive. "My ideal romantic birthday would be to go out to a nice dinner and go dancing underneath the stars," says Lovingyou.com user, Christina. "Then come home and snuggle together while watching my favorite movie." For more great ways to celebrate your love's birthday try these great ideas from other Lovingyou.com users!

"First you will have to leave alot of notes around the house directing her where to go and make sure the lights are off and the last note will be the note saying how much you love her and how lucky you are to have her and then you take her out to the most expensive restaurant (of course that'll leave you broke but that dosen't matter) because you really love her. "Last year I wanted to do something special for my fiance's birthday. I created a presentation on microsoft power point and I used some funny pictures to tell him how much I love him and how happy I am to celebrate his birthday. I saved the presentation on a floppy disk and enclosed it in a postcard. I ordered a special Cake for him and asked the bakery to deliver it to my fiance's work together with the postcard. Needless to say that when my fiance got the cake, all the office was singing Happy Birthday to him... He celebrated his birthday with his co-workers. When he viewd the presentation I made, he found at the last slide an invitation to dinner on the best Nile Cruise in Egypt. We had great time and he loved the day very much."

For Your Husband or Boyfriend:
Simple seems to be better when it comes to the man in your life, ladies! Use this day to show him how much you appreciate what he does by giving him a simple night of love and relaxation. For example, Lovingyou.com user, Brad says, "My idea of the perfect romantic birthday is my favorite dinner and my favorite cake. Then, my wife takes me to see a movie and lets me pick." Or, try something even more simple and little risque. Junior, another Lovingyou.com user recommends, "Just give me my girl in a box naked!" "For my husband's birthday I have planned to have a surprise candlelight bubble bath with floating candles and soft music to relax him after a hard day's work. Following that we will have an indoor picnic by candlelight in our bedroom. After dinner, I plan to give him a massage with edible oils in chocolate and chocolate mint flavors. This should be a night to remember!"

"Every year we celebrate my husband's birthday with an intimate dinner at home. I always choose a theme to make it fun and interesting and focus the evening dinner and fun around the theme. Last year, I went all out for a fun and festive Arabian night. I cooked up some great food from the middle east, couscous, lamb, simmered dates, almond desert and honeyed figs. I decided also that this was a great time to do a little house cleaning. So, I threw out our old sofa and in it's place I set up a tent (I went out and purchased the netting that you can buy already fitted on a circular tube with a ring to hang), suspended it from the ceiling, used a few small wool carpets and took every pillow and cushion in the house and arranged it inside. From the center hook I suspended a great little beaded lantern votive candleholder I had gotten for Christmas and voila!!! A beautiful exotic evening for two. If you’re really daring you can dress up in a beautiful harem (I did) or genie outfit and whisk yourselves away to another place and time. Needless to say, we had a great time at very little cost..."

"It was my boyfriend’s 18th birthday I didn't have a lot of money, but I wanted to get him something he'd like. I went out to the store and bought a couple of balloons. I made sure one said happy birthday. Then I went and got him 18 lottery tickets. I punched holes in the top corner of each lottery ticket and attached them to the strings of the balloon. He really loved it. He said it was the best present he ever got."
